LANSING, Mich. – Today, Senate Minority Leader Jim Ananich (D-Flint) issued the following statement after the auditor general released a scathing report on the state’s lack of cybersecurity measures at the Department of Technology, Management and Budget:

“Gov. Snyder was the CEO of a tech company and the DTMB is run by a cybersecurity expert – there is just no excuse for why Michigan’s top officials have failed to protect our state from hackers.

“The auditor general’s report highlights yet another instance of incompetence shown by this administration. Add this to the list of failures that include the Flint water crisis, crumbling roads, toxic PFAS in drinking water, fraud from the Unemployment Insurance Agency, neglect at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, and more.

“It turns out that business people just aren’t that good at running government.”
