LANSING, Mich. — Senator Steve Bieda (D–Warren) issued the following statement on this morning’s scheduled ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the reopening of 15 Mile Road, which had been closed for nearly a year to allow for necessary construction and repair of sewer line repairs caused by a giant sinkhole in Fraser:

“On behalf of all Macomb County residents, I want to thank Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller, County Executive Mark Hackel, and my colleagues in the Michigan Legislature who helped us secure the $5 million loan from the state to help fix the massive Fraser sinkhole. Having multiple entities work together to address a critical, localized infrastructure issue shows the potential to address larger, widespread infrastructure problems we still face across the state.”
