LANSING, Mich. — Senator Vincent Gregory (D–Lathrup Village) was told today that the Auditor General’s office will release its report and findings following its in-depth examination of the Grand Rapids Veterans Home tomorrow morning.

Sen. Gregory said he was calling attention to the upcoming report because of the seriousness of management deficiencies at the Home — deficiencies that threatened the well-being of its residents.

“I first raised concerns about the management of the Home with the Auditor General more than two years ago, most notably regarding staffing levels and patient treatment,” Sen. Gregory said.

“I have every confidence the Auditor General’s investigation was thorough and their report will reveal the inadequacies we have suspected for some time. I appreciate the willingness of that office to conduct a full and impartial review of the Home.”

Sen. Gregory will have a full statement on the Auditor General’s report shortly after it is released at 8 a.m. Friday.
