LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Vincent Gregory (D–Lathrup Village) issued the following statement after the Office of the Auditor General released a report about potential falsifications and reporting discrepancies of cell search records at the Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility in Ypsilanti:

“Procedural rules and policies are meant to be followed so that both Corrections employees and inmates remain safe. Discrepancies in reporting and subverting established protocols sets a dangerous precedence, and unnecessarily places everyone involved at risk. Safety in our prisons should be a top priority, and these findings give cause for concern and warrant further investigations.”
