LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Vincent Gregory (D–Southfield) issued the following statement after an audit at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans found that staffing levels are still insufficient:

“It’s shameful that there’s a double standard when it comes to our men and women in the armed forces. We expect nothing less than 100 percent commitment from our service members overseas, but then when they get home, it’s somehow acceptable to skimp on the care they need to get back on their feet — providing just 59 percent of the required staff. Anything less than 100 percent is unacceptable, and those responsible need to be held accountable.”
