LANSING, Mich. — Senator Hoon-Yung Hopgood (D–Taylor) and members of the Asian Pacific American (APA) Caucus invite the public to the Asian Pacific American Heritage and Legislative Day at the Capitol on Thursday, May 11, 2017.

The event will begin in the Capitol Rotunda at 11 a.m. and end at noon. Miss Michigan 2016, Arianna Quan, will deliver the keynote address. Ms. Quan is the first Asian American and naturalized citizen to be a state titleholder for the Miss Michigan Scholarship Pageant.

The celebration is being sponsored by the Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commission (MAPAAC), Asian Pacific Islander American Vote-MI, the Office of New Americans, and the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). All are welcome to attend.
