LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Coleman A. Young II (D−Detroit) today issued the following statement after the Senate voted to eliminate driver responsibility fees, which made it more difficult for families to buy groceries, pay their bills and save for retirement:

“Detroit drivers will no longer have to fork over thousands of dollars to an administration looking to make a quick buck. In the automobile capital of the world — where mobility should be both affordable and accessible — it is humbling to see that we were finally able to get people out of debt, on the road, and back to work.”
