Alexander on Elevated Lead Levels in Inkster Drinking Water

DETROIT — Sen. Betty Jean Alexander (D-Detroit) has issued the following statement after Inkster notified residents that elevated levels of lead were detected in the drinking water of four homes, out of the 30 targeted sample sites, with known lead service lines:

“I’m thankful to the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy and the Inkster Water and Sewer Division for ensuring Inkster residents are aware of the problems with their drinking water. I remain committed to working with everyone involved to make sure that clean water is delivered to the residents in my district, and that information is shared with them quickly and openly so they can make the best health decisions for their family.”
