Sen. Ananich on Governor Snyder’s proposal for stricter rules for lead in drinking water

LANSING, Mich. — Senate Minority Leader Jim Ananich (D-Flint) released the following statement after Governor Snyder’s proposal this morning for stricter statewide guidelines for lead levels in drinking water:

“These reforms are important, but I had hoped the governor would announce this morning that he has convinced lawmakers like Speaker Cotter and Senator Lee to approve the emergency resources to replace pipes now and expand health and education services. We are still in the middle of this crisis and without additional support from Lansing or Washington, people are suffering every day.”
