Statement from Sen. Ananich on Flint residents receiving lien notices for unpaid water bills

Lansing, MICH. – Senate Minority Leader Jim Ananich released the following statement in response to thousands of Flint residents receiving lien notices for unpaid water bills:

“Just today I voted to extend water credits to Flint residents, but Republicans defeated the measure. The bottom line is that the state should be helping Flint residents pay for their water until it is completely safe. I was successful in securing funding for water credits when the crisis broke, and I will continue to fight to help folks in my city with their water bills until we’ve emerged from this whole mess.”
