Sen. Ananich on Republican Repeal of Prevailing Wage

LANSING, Mich. – Today, Senate Minority Leader Jim Ananich (D-Flint) issued the following statement after Senate Republicans voted to repeal prevailing wage:

“When you vote to eliminate prevailing wage, you send a message to those getting up for work tomorrow morning that Republicans do not value the men and women who build this state. If we really want to attract talent and build a competitive workforce, we have to start by valuing our workers. Michigan workers are our state’s greatest asset and it is time we start showing them the respect they deserve.

“If you truly think the people of Michigan want to repeal prevailing wage, send the question to the voters and let them decide.”
