Sen. Ananich on GOP’s pro-insurance company no-fault bill:

LANSING, Mich. – Today, Senate Minority Leader Jim Ananich (D-Flint) issued the following statement after Senate Republicans voted to pass Senate Bill 1, auto no-fault legislation that puts the priorities of insurance companies over those of Michigan drivers:

“What Senate Republicans cobbled up behind closed doors is 79 pages of policy written to benefit insurance companies. This bill just tells us what we already know to be true: Republicans are willing to regulate how much medical treatment costs, but when it comes to putting dollars back in the pockets of families, they’d rather leave it to the whims of the ‘free market.’ We need to go back to the drawing board and find a compromise that puts Michigan drivers first.”
