Project expected to draw additional local investment, create 106 new jobs in Auburn Hills

LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Rosemary Bayer (D–Beverly Hills) issued the following statement on the Michigan Strategic Fund’s decision to award a $1.59 million Michigan Business Development Program grant in support of Magneti Marelli Holding USA LLC’s Auburn Hills expansion:

“Thank you to the Michigan Strategic Fund and to Magneti Marelli Holding USA LLC for choosing to expand business in Oakland County. High-tech job opportunities in design and engineering keep college graduates in Michigan, grow the local economy and make communities a better place for our families. As a former technology entrepreneur, I support our state’s efforts to invest in infrastructure, education and training that makes Michigan an ideal place for these types of good-paying jobs.”

Magneti Marelli Holding USA LLC, which designs and produces high-tech systems and components for the automotive sector, will use the grant to grow and invest in its employees. The company also plans to further strengthen its research and development, technology, and professional labor capabilities, including adding new labs next to its existing Auburn Hills location.

The project is expected to result in more than $12.5 million in private investment and the creation of 106 jobs.
