LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Rosemary Bayer (D-Beverly Hills) issued the following statement on legislative Republicans’ rejection of Executive Order 2019-2, which eliminates special interest oversight of corporate polluters:

“Protecting our water shouldn’t be about politics. It is our duty to govern in a way that protects the people who elected us to serve and the resources that make this the Great Lakes State. That is why we cannot, and we must not, allow corporate special interests the opportunity to overrule even the most basic protections aimed at keeping families and communities safe from toxic contamination.”
