LANSING – Sen. Rosemary Bayer (D-Beverly Hills) today issued the following statement after the legislature reached an agreement on auto insurance reform and passed Senate Bill 1.

“Michiganders have been asking for reform to our auto insurance system for years, and this legislation, while not perfect, takes a huge step forward in that direction. Michigan drivers will see lower rates and be able to choose their own insurance coverage and options, including the choice to keep unlimited coverage. All of us were sent to Lansing to roll up our sleeves, get to work, and solve the tough problems. This bill is the result of all sides working hard — together — and negotiating to make life better for Michigan families.”
