LANSING, Mich. – Sen. Winnie Brinks (D–Grand Rapids) has issued the following statement on the Trump administration’s decision to reschedule a Jan. 23 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency informational meeting in Rockford about its ongoing investigation into PFAS contamination by Wolverine World Wide:
“Michiganders have already waited too long for Republican-led federal and state administrations to resolve this PFAS nightmare. The current government shutdown not only threatens the livelihood of federal workers, it also creates further delays in holding Wolverine World Wide, and other polluters, accountable. Michigan families deserve better than this from the Trump administration. I urge the federal government to keep their commitment to holding public meetings and to put the health of Michigan’s residents, and safety of our drinking water, first.”
