LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Winnie Brinks (D-Grand Rapids) issued the following statement on legislative Republicans’ move to reject Executive Order 2019-2, which prevents special interest oversight of corporate polluters:

“The safety of our drinking water, families and communities must be a priority. Eliminating so-called ‘fox guarding the hen house’ committees is one critical step in our fight to protect drinking water in West Michigan. The rejection of Gov. Whitmer’s executive order is a partisan move at a time when we should be focused on protecting our communities from PFAS and other threats to public health.”
