LANSING — State Sen. Winnie Brinks (D-Grand Rapids) has issued the following statement on the announcement that the Michigan PFAS Action Response Team (MPART) board’s draft standard for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances is heading to Gov. Whitmer:
“I’m pleased to see that the task force charged with developing an enforceable PFAS standard is sticking to their October 1st deadline. Our residents are counting on state government to set a strong limit that protects our families, kids and communities from these toxic chemicals in their drinking water. This is a critical step in our state’s response to addressing PFAS contamination.
“I look forward to working with the Whitmer administration as they review the draft and finalize an enforceable limit.”
