Sen. Bullock on Gov. Whitmer’s plan to improve K-12 education

LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Marshall Bullock  (D–Detroit) has issued the following statement on Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s State of the State address, during which she spoke about improving our public schools so every child has equal access to a good K-12 education.

“Early education sets the foundation for a lifetime of learning, however Detroit, Lincoln Park, Allen Park and Southgate have been devastated by funding and policy decisions that are crippling our K-12 system. I’m looking forward to working with Gov. Whitmer and my colleagues to ensure equitable access to quality public education in every part of our state, complete with the wrap-around services our children need and the support that our teachers deserve.”
