Nassar-inspired bills reemerge in Michigan legislature

Sen. Stephanie Chang, D-Detroit, supported the laws that passed as a state representative. But the legislature needs to go further to ensure a Nassar-like situation can’t happen again.

“I think the piece that’s been missing from a lot of the conversation in terms of bills that have actually been signed into law has been about preventing future sexual assault,” Chang said. “That’s what I’m trying to make sure that we really put as much effort towards as possible.”
