March 11 event to help community members understand and more easily access the health care system and connect with local resources

FLINT, Mich. (March 6, 2026) — Next week, Sen. John Cherry (D-Flint) will be holding his second event in a series that brings together health care experts and leaders to support Genesee County residents access health care options that meet their needs. On March 11, Sen. Cherry will be joined in discussion by Clarence Pierce, CEO of the Hamilton Community Health Network — the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Genesee County — to help shine a light on how community members can better navigate the complexities of the health care system and find local resources available to them.

“Everyone deserves access to quality, affordable health care, but with rising costs and the complexities inherent within the coverage and care network, too many Michiganders are blocked from getting the care they need,” said Sen. Cherry. “Fortunately for Genesee County, we have a robust health care network that residents can and should tap into, which is why I’m excited to host another event in our health care series alongside the Hamilton Community Health Network. With a network of over 200 employees and nine clinics, Hamilton Community Health Network helps ensure our youngest to our oldest community members are taken care of — and I hope folks come out to learn about all they have to offer!”

This Community Health Care Forum will take place on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Community Health Network Burton Campus, Building 2, located at G-3373 S. Saginaw St., Burton, MI, 48529. Along with Sen. Cherry and Pierce, panelists in attendance will include:

“Access to care is the foundation on which Hamilton was built, and it continues to guide every decision we make,” said Pierce, CEO of Hamilton Community Health Network. “From opening new clinics to expanding programs and meeting people where they are, our focus is simple: remove barriers and make high-quality healthcare accessible to everyone.”

“We are honored to partner with Sen. Cherry and fellow healthcare leaders for this forum,” Pierce added. “By bringing our voices together, we can strengthen collaboration, elevate solutions, and ensure every resident in our region knows there is an open door and a trusted place to receive the care they need.”
