LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Erika Geiss (D-Taylor) has issued the following statement on a bipartisan package of legislation that’s been introduced in both the state House and Senate to combat sexual assault in Michigan, especially at our state’s educational institutions.
“This legislation sends a critical message to survivors of sexual assault: We see you, we hear you, and we will not be complacent with a broken system. True justice will not be served until this legislation crosses the governor’s desk for a signature because no one ever should suffer at the hands of a sexual predator. I look forward to continuing this dialogue in the Capitol and fighting for justice for every single survivor of sexual assault.”
