Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson continued her tour this week of Department of State branch locations across the state, with visits to offices in Livonia and Novi.

“The updates we’ve made to our operations are making the experience better than ever for Michigan residents,” said Secretary Benson. “Most services are available from home, and office visits are efficient and predictable. With every customer I speak with I see the impact of our changes and how we’re making government work for Michiganders.”

Benson met with customers as well as office staff to discuss the Department’s efforts to advance its service-driven model, with customers and staff reporting efficient transactions, quick service and pleasant interactions. Joining Benson in Livonia were area lawmakers including state Rep. Ranjeev Puri (D-Canton) and State Sen. Erika Geiss (D-Taylor).

“I appreciate the fact that Secretary Benson is making these visits to see first-hand what’s working and what isn’t,” said Rep. Puri. “I share her commitment to making sure that people in Wayne County and across the state can get timely, thorough service at their local branch office.”

“I’m grateful to Secretary Benson for all the work she has accomplished under unique and challenging circumstances to serve our residents where they’re at,” said Sen. Geiss. “This visit is yet another example of her dedication to the people of Michigan, ensuring needs are met, and that services are operating smoothly and efficiently. I look forward to doing everything we can in the Legislature to ensure she has the necessary resources to get the job done.”
