LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Adam Hollier (D–Detroit) has issued the following statement on Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s State of the State address, during which she highlighted fixing the state’s broken education system as one of her main challenges.

“If our state wants to succeed, we need to stop being shortsighted when it comes to education. With the help of Gov. Whitmer, I look forward to making good on my commitment to building an education system that inspires our children to become a generation of thinkers, builders, planners and dreamers.
