My legislation, Senate Bill 445, was signed into law by Governor Whitmer. Senate Bill 445 turns off the “able and available” requirement for federal unemployment claims filed during the pandemic. Part-time workers and those who could not work full-time will not have to pay back the benefits they received and/or may be eligible to claim benefits that were denied.
If your claim was affected by the “able and available” requirement, you should have received a letter that looks similar to this:
