ANN ARBOR, Mich. (June 8, 2022) — Today, Sen. Jeff Irwin (D-Ann Arbor) issued the following statement of congratulations and support to the Michigan Starbucks employees who recently voted to authorize a union:
“These Starbucks employees finally have a seat at the table to ensure their concerns and hopes are heard. More and more workers are standing up and the message from these votes is clear: ‘Workers deserve a fair wage, good benefits, and decent working conditions, and they will fight to get it.’
“Congratulations to the organizers and employees for standing strong throughout this process. Unions built Michigan and the middle class, and these workers are continuing this legacy and fighting for a better future. My hope is that their efforts will inspire and remind Michigan workers that they are stronger together and can make real change in their workplace.”
