LANSING — State Sen. Sean McCann (D–Kalamazoo) today issued the following statement on Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s budget proposal:
“Kalamazoo County residents deserve a state government that funds our schools, opens families’ access to higher education, protects our seniors by repealing the pension tax and ensures clean water in our district. The governor’s proposal is a starting point in the budget process. I look forward to hearing my constituents’ thoughts on Gov. Whitmer’s proposal and working with her, and my colleagues in the legislature, to finalize a budget that takes Michigan in a better direction for the sake of every family and community.”
