LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Sean McCann (D–Kalamazoo) took the oath of office today to serve the citizens of Michigan’s 20th Senate District.

“I am honored to have been sworn in in Lansing today, and I’m excited to begin my work in the state Senate on behalf of the citizens of the 20th District and the State of Michigan,” Sen. McCann said. “As a state senator, I am committed to holding polluters accountable, increasing access to health care and ensure every student has the skills they need to compete for the jobs of tomorrow.”

Sen. McCann named John Curran as chief of staff, Natalie Purser as constituent relations director and Jack Levy as district manager.

The 20th Senate District includes the cities of Galesburg, Kalamazoo, Portage and Parchment, and the townships of Alamo, Cooper, Richland, Ross, Kalamazoo, Oshtemo, Comstock, Charleston, Texas, Pavilion, Climax, Prairie Ronde, Schoolcraft, Brady and Wakeshma in Kalamazoo County.
