Sen. McDonald Rivet Statement on Congressman Kildee Announcing He Will Not Run for Re-Election
BAY CITY, Mich. (Nov. 16, 2023) — Today, Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-08) announced he will not seek re-election next year. Following the announcement, State Sen. Kristen McDonald Rivet (D-Bay City) issued the following statement:
“In every second of his decades of public service, Dan Kildee has put the greatest good of the people he serves above all else. From standing up for blue collar workers and improving paths to prosperity, to defending women’s reproductive rights and fighting to make Flint whole after the water crisis, Congressman Kildee has delivered time and again for mid-Michigan families.
“Congress is losing a working-class warrior and best-in-class public servant. My husband Joseph and I join our Great Lakes Bay community in wishing Dan and his wife Jennifer all the best in their family’s next chapter.”
