Dear Friends & Neighbors,
I’m writing to personally ask for your help in delivering an important resource to working families who may not know about Michigan’s new tax relief.
Effective February 13, 2024, the five-fold increase of Michigan’s Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for Working Families will average $3,150 per household when combined with the federal EITC. These are game-changing dollars for workers and local economies across our 35th Senate District. The challenge is to make sure eligible families know about this big tax relief and how to claim it. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
My team and I are looking for volunteers to join our EITC-awareness canvassing efforts. We’ll make sure you’re equipped to deliver the EITC resource piece (image below) at residents’ doors. We are not ringing doorbells, but we will make sure you can answer basic related questions.
To see if you might be able to join in one of our canvassing dates, please click here.
If you’re unable to join our door-to-door efforts, please spread the word however you’re able. Thank you for considering how you might be part of strengthening financial stability in our community.
