LANSING, Mich. (Sept. 15, 2021) — Sen. Mallory McMorrow (D-Royal Oak) has issued the following statement regarding today’s announcement by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on expanding electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the state:

“These Michigan Mobility Funding Platform grants announced today by Governor Whitmer help foster the ideal environment in Michigan to attract and maintain talent, create good-paying jobs, and support sustainable, safe and accessible mobility for everyone. The projects supported by these grants offer a glimpse into the future with companies who have already begun the journey of partnering with state departments and local communities.

“Our success in this space has to be sustainable, innovative, and accessible to all — and I’m thrilled to see grants awarded to companies supporting door-to-door solutions, expanding transit opportunities to Metro Detroit, and ensuring Michiganders of all abilities have a reliable way to get to where they want to go. I look forward to continuing this work as a member of the state’s Council of Future Mobility and Electrification and through the legislature to support innovation in mobility for all Michiganders.”
