LANSING, Mich. (Oct. 9, 2025) — Last week, the Michigan Legislature passed a bipartisan state budget for the 2026 Fiscal Year that lowers costs, protects access to health care and other services, supports students’ education, increases local road funding, and expands opportunity for Michigan families. Also included in the final budget agreement was over $1 million that Sen. Mallory McMorrow (D-Royal Oak) secured for priority projects throughout her district.  
  
“Our state budget responds to what Michiganders have been saying loud and clear — they want lower costs, safer communities, and opportunities to build a better future,” said Sen. McMorrow. “Along with statewide investments to protect vital services, strengthen infrastructure, and expand game-changing programs like Rx Kids and MI Tri-Share, I’m proud to have secured funding to address pressing needs right here in our community.”
