LANSING, Mich. – State Sen. Mallory McMorrow (D–Royal Oak) today issued the following statement on her resolution calling for an end to the partial U.S. government shutdown, which is now in its 32nd day:

“Michigan is home to thousands of federal workers. Without the security of receiving a paycheck, these hardworking people are struggling to pay rent and mortgages, buy food and keep their cars on the road. Not only that, the continued shutdown puts in jeopardy the fate of small business loans, inspections and other programs that provide jobs, fuel our economy and keep all of our residents safe. Regardless of personal politics, every Michigander deserves to be paid for their work. I urge our federal officials to come together to end the shutdown.”
