Michigan Offering Free Tuition to Essential Workers

During the worst of this unprecedented pandemic, frontline workers including hospital staff, grocery store clerks, childcare providers, delivery drivers and more stepped up and put their own health and lives on the line to help the state of Michigan move forward. Now it’s time for Michigan to step up for them. In May, Governor Whitmer announced the Futures for Frontliners program, a new state scholarship program to give Michiganders who worked the frontlines during the state’s COVID-19 shutdown tuition-free access to public community colleges.

Today, that program is ready for roll out.

Curious if you qualify? You are considered eligible if you meet all the following criteria:

It’s that simple.

If you or someone you know qualifies for this program, please, apply now! We are thankful for your service to our state. Now, it’s time we serve you. Classes will begin in January 2021.

More information can be found at Michigan.gov/Frontliners.
