As a reminder, with the passing of the School Aid budget, the Senate will not reconvene at the Capitol again until July 15th. During the summer, the legislature has fewer session days in Lansing to allow Senators more work time in their districts. This is known as our “in-district work period” and when some of the most impactful work happens — taking meetings with constituents and attending district events that are often difficult to schedule during session days.

During a normal session period, we host virtual coffee hours every Friday at 1:00 p.m. With fewer session days during the summer, we will be hosting one virtual coffee hour a month to review things happening at the state level and go over any updates or current events. These coffee hours will take place on the following Fridays:

  • July 23rd
  • August 20th
