The economic opportunities in Michigan are first in the nation.
Bloomberg recently touted how far Michigan has come since the pandemic, noting that, “among 37 states with a population greater than 2 million, no state economy has performed better than Michigan over the last year” based on equally weighted measures of employment, personal income, home prices, mortgage delinquency, state tax revenue, and the stock market performance of its publicly traded companies.

I voted for legislation to create Michigan Reconnect, a program designed to help those looking to make career changes. It provides eligible adults aged 25 or older with an opportunity to earn a tuition-free associate degree or skills certificate at their local, in-district community college or training school. Certificates and licenses can often be obtained in less than a year.
