I'm sickened by the 16 Michigan House Republicans who voted late last week to harm hundreds of children by cutting the funding for Kids-TALK, which Canton Township was so excited about, and which was legally appropriated by this body in 2024.
Kids-TALK is an organization that provides a safe place for kids who have been sexually and physically abused to undergo often intrusive and excruciating forensic testing. Canton, in my district, was set to turn an old schoolhouse into a Kids-TALK building.
Every Republican who voted for this and every Republican who supports this questionably legal political tactic should hang their head in shame today.
