LANSING — Sen. Sylvia Santana (D-Detroit) issued the following statement today after the Michigan Senate passed a supplemental budget bill that includes $500,000 in funding for the Arab-American Museum in Dearborn, along with Rouge Park and the Charles Wright Museum in Detroit:
“I’ve been working with residents throughout this budget cycle to ensure that Rouge Park remains a great asset to the city. Rouge Park is one of southeast Michigan’s most beautiful natural areas, and this important funding will allow families a place to connect to the outdoors and spend quality time exploring the city we love.
“The Arab-American and Charles Wright Museums are important cultural and historical institutions within our community, and I am pleased that this supplemental funding will ensure the wide array of cultures in our district are celebrated.”
