LANSING, Mich. (August 9, 2023) — Sen. Erika Geiss (D-Taylor) and Sen. Sylvia Santana (D-Detroit), who both represent portions of Allen Park in the state Senate, offer congratulations to the City of Allen Park on the announcement of a $25,000 grant — with funding from America in Bloom (AIB) and Canadian National Railroad (CN) for the “EcoConnexions From the Ground Up” grant program.

“As one of the State Senators representing the city of Allen Park, I am thrilled for my community with the announcement of the $25,000 grant from AIB and CN Railroad. This grant will help fund and support community greening projects that improve residents’ quality of life, promote public health benefits, support ecosystems, and beautify communities that neighbor CN Railway lines,” said Sen. Geiss. “Excitement is an understatement as the ‘EcoConnexions From the Ground Up’ grant program is limited to awarding only 10 grants in the country. I look forward to the positive impacts this grant will have on our community.

“Thank you to CN Railroad for their investment into Allen Park and the memorial that honors those that served our Nation. This investment will provide green space and a beautiful park for generations to come,” said Sen. Santana.
