LANSING — Sen. Sylvia Santana (D-Detroit) has issued the following statement after the Michigan Legislature reached an agreement on no-fault auto insurance reform and passed Senate Bill 1:
“Michiganders have been demanding action to lower the cost of auto insurance for years and, quite frankly, it’s about time. I was sent to Lansing to work on solving the tough problems for my constituents, and to work on issues that matter to them. Make no mistake: This auto insurance reform package was a complex issue, but we worked together across the aisle to produce a bill that will bring relief to the hardworking residents of Detroit, Dearborn and Melvindale. As a result, hopefully life will be made a little easier — and a little better — for them.”
