LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Sylvia Santana (D–Detroit) has issued the following statement on Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s State of the State address, in which she talked about the need to protect Michigan’s drinking water.

“Our state is home to the world’s most precious source of fresh water, and it’s unconscionable that Michiganders are priced out of affording this basic necessity. There are too many people in the 3rd Senate District who are too poor to pay their water bills, and I believe Gov. Whitmer can help us fix that.”
