LANSING – Today, Sen. Sylvia Santana (D-Detroit) welcomed 51 people from the 3rd Senate District to the Capitol, where they discussed concerns and interest in auto insurance, consumer protections, and health and human services issues.

“It has always been important to me that the people I represent can see and speak to me not only in our district, but also inside our beautiful Capitol Building,” Sen. Santana said. “It’s an experience I think as many people as possible should have, not only to understand the legislative process, but to meet the people working for them in Lansing. My residents raised various concerns today that I also share. Being at the Capitol allows constituents to meet with other legislators, and it’s my hope that if they hear residents’ concerns directly, we can work toward more action and make Michigan a place that works for everyone.”

Sen. Santana will be hosting one more Community Day at the Capitol next week on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Space is limited to 50 people per day, but food and transportation are provided for those who can join.
