Whether you’re seeking support as an LGBTQ+ individual, facing food insecurity, needing housing assistance or mental health support, or dealing with substance use disorders, there are services to meet your needs.

Educational Resources
Fill Out Your FAFSA
Many of Michigan’s graduating seniors qualify for state financial aid, potentially saving thousands on tuition. You might be eligible for more aid than you think, so don’t wait — complete your FAFSA now! Deadline for Fall 2024: June 30, 2025

Michigan Achievement Scholarship
To support our students and reduce college expenses, my Democratic colleagues and I expanded the Michigan Achievement Scholarship for graduating high school seniors and incoming college freshmen.
Under this scholarship, students can receive:
- Up to $2,750 annually for up to three years at a Michigan community college.
- Up to $5,500 annually for up to five years at a Michigan private college or university.
- Up to $5,500 annually for up to five years at a Michigan public university or in a baccalaureate degree program at a Michigan community college.

The Community College Guarantee
Senate Democrats are working to deliver the Community College Guarantee which, if passed into law, would open more pathways for high school graduates across the state to attend community college, preparing a brighter future ahead for the state of Michigan and its workforce.

- Michigan Community Mental Health Services Programs (CMHSPs): CMHSPs offer comprehensive services for individuals with mental illnesses, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders across Michigan. Find your local program here.

- Alateen Meetings: Alateen meetings offer a support group to young people (mostly teenagers) whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. You can find Alateen meetings in your area by clicking here, and scrolling to the bottom of the page. If there are no Alateen meetings near you, teens are welcome at Alcohol Anonymous meetings, too.

- Face Addiction Now (formerly Families Against Narcotic): From educational programs and events to scholarships, volunteer opportunities and more, FAN offers a wide variety of support services and resources to assist individuals and families affected by substance use disorder. - Resources from the State of Michigan: The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services offers a variety of services supporting those struggling with substance use, gambling or mental health.
- Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA): Get 24/7 confidential help for mental health and substance use disorders by calling the free and confidential national helpline. SAMHA’s National Helpline is available 24/7, 365-day-a-year offering treatment referral and information service (in English and Spanish) for individuals and families.
