NORVELL TWP., Mich. (March. 7, 2025) — Earlier today, Sen. Sue Shink (D-Northfield Twp.) hosted a Community Coffee Hour to connect with constituents and provide updates on the work being done in the state Legislature. Sen. Shink was joined by Norvell Twp. Supervisor Bill Sutherland at the event and the Jackson County Dept. on Aging also participated.
“Seeing such a great turnout today was fantastic — nearly 100 people came out to talk with me and participate in their state government. Events like this are so important because when people make their voices heard, we can do our jobs more effectively as elected officials.
“Many of the residents who came out today expressed concerns about what’s happening at the federal level and how the actions taken by Donald Trump and Elon Musk are negatively impacting the hardworking people in our state. That’s exactly why staying engaged matters. The more we show up, speak out, and work together, the stronger our communities will be.
“Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation today, including Supervisor Sutherland and to the Jackson County Department on Aging for providing meals for our guests.”
