LANSING, Mich. (Nov. 10, 2022) — Senator-Elect Sam Singh (D-East Lansing) today issued the following statement after being chosen by his Senate Democratic Caucus colleagues as Senate Majority Floor Leader for Michigan’s 102nd Legislature:
“It is an enormous honor to be chosen by my Democratic colleagues to serve as the Floor Leader for our new Senate Majority. Along with Majority Leader Winnie Brinks and the rest of the Democratic caucus, I look forward to fighting for Michiganders from all walks of life. The folks in our state deserve nothing less and I am thrilled to lead this principled group of senators in delivering real results for all Michiganders.”
On Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, Democrats made history by gaining control of the Michigan Senate for the first time since 1983.
