LANSING, Mich. (Jan. 18, 2023) — Today, Senate Majority Floor Leader Sam Singh (D-East Lansing) has issued the following statement regarding the passage of Senate Concurrent Resolution 5, which would implement bipartisan, previously negotiated pay increases for Michigan’s civil service employees:

I am pleased to support the resolution brought forward to better support the hardworking people of my district and around the state and help us recruit the best and brightest people to fill these important positions,” Sen. Singh said. “Michigan government could not run without the dedicated employees in civil service. The positions we funded today are essential to the health and well-being of Michiganders across the board, as they include nurses, psychologists, physicians and physician assistants, and more. I look forward to continuing this conversation to ensure these folks get the pay they were promised.”
