LANSING, Mich. (March 19, 2024) — Sen. Sam Singh (D-East Lansing) issued the following statement on the Michigan Senate’s passage today of his legislation, Senate Bills 579, 580 and 581, to create and invest in the High-wage Incentive for Regional Employment (HIRE) in Michigan Program. The program will support small businesses and spur growth in new industries while generating new, good-paying jobs.

Singh. “The HIRE program is tailored to meet the needs of businesses, big and small. With this legislation, we are continuing to build on our efforts to create a robust and diverse business landscape. Coupled with extensive resources dedicated for training and education opportunities, the HIRE Program will empower Michigan’s workforce through high-paying jobs.”
