Dear Neighbor,
It’s been an honor to serve another year as your State Senator. As we wrap up 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on some of the ways I’ve been working to get things done for our District and for all Michiganders around the state.
From protecting access to health care and securing record investments in public education to advancing commonsense legislation to make life more affordable, I’m proud to share that my colleagues and I fought for you every step of the way. In this newsletter, you can learn more about our work and find information on valuable community resources in case you or someone you know could use some support this winter season.
I look forward to seeing the great things we can accomplish together in 2026. As always, if there’s anything I can do to help you navigate a state department, or if you’d like to share any concerns or ask questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office.
Take care,
State Senator Sam Singh

Senate Democrats Secure Major Wins in 2026 State Budget
My Senate colleagues and I fought hard to deliver a bipartisan state budget that reflects the priorities you care about — strong schools, safe communities, access to health care, and opportunity for all.
Our final budget deal works to fill critical gaps caused by cuts from the Trump administration, ensures stability in the services people rely on to survive, and protects what matters most to Michigan families.

Winter Resources for District 28
Weatherization Services
Capital Area Community Services (CACS) offers free home weatherization assistance to residents of Clinton, Eaton, Ingham and Shiawassee counties. The program is designed to help lower fuel costs by making homes more energy efficient. Having your home weatherized can save you an average of $283 per year on your energy bills! For more information, or to find out if you are eligible, call your county’s CACS office:
Clinton: (989) 224-6702
Ingham: (517) 676-1065
Shiawassee: (989) 723-3115
Warming Centers
If someone you know needs a place to stay warm during the cold winter months, find information on available warming centers in the community – visit SenateDems.com/Singh/Warming-Centers.
Meals on Wheels
We deserve every opportunity to age safely at home. If you, or a senior you know, cannot cook for yourself or are struggling to pay for food, Meals on Wheels can help. This program helps senior citizens eat nutritiously by providing five meals per week to homebound, older adults. They also offer liquid nutrition for those who are unable to eat solid food and who have a prescription from their physician. To find the program nearest you, call 1-888-224-3030.

Helping Heat Michiganders’ Homes
PUBLIC ACT 169 OF ‘24 & SENATE BILL 435 OF ‘25
As Michiganders increasingly feel the stress of trying to make ends meet, I’ve been fighting to ensure our seniors and families can keep their lights on and homes heated. Last year, I championed legislation to boost funding and expand eligibility requirements for our energy assistance program. This year, I worked to protect the Home Heating Tax Credit, which helps over 250,000 Michigan households stay warm in the winter.
