Signing the State Education Budget & Fighting for District 4

Dear Neighbor,      This week marks the end of July and the beginning of August, so it’s time to get outdoors and enjoy the last few weeks of summer before the back-to-school season is in full swing!   Last week, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer put her stamp of approval on the...

Today's reporting that the Wayne Disposal site in Van Buren Township will be accepting radioactive waste from the Manhattan Project is alarming, and is yet another reason why there needs to be a larger conversation about hazardous waste management in America. With all due respect sir if you feel this way why his taken this long to bring up that issue? It seems like this is a reactive response instead of a proactive approach. After all this is nothing new. At least now maybe it'll be discussed but looks like it's too late.

This truly is (or should be) a bi-partisan issue. Who decided that it was ok to accept this waste? EGLE? The Governors office? Someone else?

And to think Riverview still wants to expand the landfill in the middle of all of these neighborhoods. They are discussing filing another application. It’s ridiculous that landfill has gotten as big as it already is and the risk of it leaking hazardous material is scary when it’s located near homes, schools, businesses etc I would love to see our senators and reps get even more involved with the waste management issues in Michigan.
