I took Michigan workers’ voices to the floor in my first Senate remarks two years ago, and I’ve centered them ever since.
This legislation helps bring workers' wages up, and gives local governments the flexibility to set prevailing wages, provide paid leave and other benefits to attract the workers they need.

Tried calling but no answer. Please vote NO on Wednesday. Please save our Porcupine Mountains. How could we have jobs and try to keep families in Michigan if our water system becomes polluted from toxic waste?
That was before Lunatic crooked as Democrats like You got a foot hold on this state and the State has gone down hill ever since.
It’s been decades since Michigan increased unemployment benefits. That money helps stabilize Michigan workers and their families while job-searching, and is spent locally. Another long overdue change that will align Michigan with the large majority of other states, and help attract and retain workers, is expanding unemployment insurance eligibility from 20 to 26 weeks, reversing cuts made by the Snyder administration in 2011.
